Questions you should consider asking your wedding photographer

1. Are you available on our wedding date?

2. Do you shoot more than one wedding per day or weekend?

3. How many weddings have you photographed?

4. Have you shot at our venue before?

5. Can we see full galleries of recent weddings you’ve shot?

6. How would you describe your photography style? (e.g. documentary, fine art, traditional)

7. What’s included in your packages?

8. How many hours of coverage do we get?

9. Are travel expenses included in the price?

10. Is a second shooter included or available?

11. What’s your deposit and payment schedule?

12. How do you work on the day—do you direct a lot or stay more in the background?

13. Do you have backup equipment with you?

14. What happens if you’re ill or unable to attend?

15. How many images will we receive?

16. How long after the wedding will we get the photos?

17. How will the photos be delivered (USB, online gallery, etc.)?

18. Do you offer albums or prints?

19. Are the images high-resolution and watermark-free?

20. Do you have public liability insurance?

21. Do you use a contract? Can we review it before booking?

22. What’s your cancellation or postponement policy?

23. Can we request specific shots or a shot list?

24. Will you use our photos for your marketing/portfolio?
